Dear Parents/Carers,
Health & Safety Update – School Closure
The Welsh Government has today announced that ‘all schools in Wales will close from this Friday’. This means that the school will be open on Friday 20th March, but be closed to all children from Monday 23rd March 2020. I can imagine that this has not been a decision that has been taken lightly.
How are we planning to support the children in the event of a full school closure?
Staff have already prepared extensive ‘home learning packs’ for each child in the school and these packs will be made available to all parents/carers from tomorrow. If your child is not in school at the moment then it is important that a pack is collected by a family member or friend of the family by 2.00pm Friday 20th March 2020.
There will also be a wealth of activities available online and we will be sharing details of how you can access these resources before the end of the week. These resources will be accessible via the school website and you just need to click on the ‘children’ tab and follow the link to ‘home learning’.

Although you may not have access to the internet at home, please don’t worry as you will be able to find a wide range of material in the home learning packs. It may also be possible for you to work online with friends or family members.
I would also like to assure you that the Local Authority are presently reviewing its provision for additional learning needs, safeguarding and catering procedures in order to support families when the school is closed to children.
Please continue to help us by emphasising the following actions:
Look at the ‘e-bug’ link for some useful tips for staying safe and hygienic.

The school will continue to update you for the foreseeable future via the school website, push notifications (our text system) and Tweets in order to give you as much information as possible regarding this rapidly changing situation.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone for your support and understanding at this extremely difficult and challenging time.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. D Harris
