Welcome to Year 3!
with Mr Davies, Mrs Hoskins (Mr Esmond until the summer as Mrs Hoskins is on maternity leave) and Mr Beaven.
We are all resourceful, resilient and reflective learners.
This term we will be reading and interpreting a variety of texts, and producing extending writing as part of our Success for All lessons.
In Mathematics it is important to be clear on our multiplication fact families, we are revising our 2, 5 & 10 times tables this term and beginning to learn 3, 4 and 6 and times tables. Please ask your child what they are learning. Homework is provided based on what we are learning for that week using the Active learn Website. Pupils have been given login details for this. If you have difficulties in accessing the site please speak to one of the teachers. We are continuing to follow Big Maths so ask your children what they are learning about.
We are learning all about solar system and sound in science and are going to be finding out lots of information about the about various planets as well as their atmosphere and composition – We will also concentrate on our investigative skills throughout the year by carrying out investigations & experiments based around space and sound.
This term the children have chosen 'Sports Fever' as their topic and are taking part in a range of activities which include looking at the importance of sport and exercise, the famous sportspeople that we look up to around the world as well as learning about staying healthy. Don’t forget to ask your child what they are learning about and keep an eye out on our twitter feed for regular updates about the exciting things we're learning in school.
Information about school trips will be given in the coming weeks and will link to our theme this term. Remember to explore our site for activities in Numeracy, Literacy to help your child learn at home and improve their skills!

Please can you ensure your child has PE kit to take part in lessons safely. Now the weather is a little warmer it is important to bring comfortable clothing such as shorts, t-shirt and trainers (with a jumper, just in case)
