Literacy -  Safe and Sound

PowerPoint - Read and discuss the PowerPoint and emphasis the importance of staying safe on the roads.

Make a poster of all the things you have learnt. What do we need to remember before we cross the road?

Maths – Halves

Can you get some paper and draw a circle, square, triangle and rectangle?

Cut out each shape, can you fold it in half? This means you fold it into two parts that are both exactly the same size! Can you colour each half in different colours.

Can you now help an adult to cut different food items in half e.g. pizza, apple, bread, cupcake, orange and tomatoes?

Activity Worksheet – Can you listen to the instructions and colour half of each shape in the named colour.

Additional Number Activities

Bingo – Make set of bingo boards to play with someone at home. Practice reading and finding the numbers on your bingo board. Can you do numbers between 1-20/50?

1-50 – Rectangle/Number Square – Make 2 number boards with numbers to 20/50. Cut out one set of numbers. Mix up the numbers – can you now match each number to its pair on your board. See example video

Number Writing – Practice writing your numbers to 10/20/50/100? Ask an adult to say a number. How many times can you write it in 30 seconds?

Number Ordering – Using your number cards can you practice ordering your numbers to 20. Ask an adult to shout out a number. Can you find it? Can you find the number before? Can you find the number after? Can you order 3 random numbers.

Number Hunt – Go on a number hunt around your house. What numbers can you find? Write down all the numbers. What is the biggest number you have found? What is the smallest number you have found?

Chinese New Year 

Arts and Crafts - Select one each day to complete! - If possible complete in order as these will support learning in our Zoom lessons. 

Vehicle Painting

Using paints and a variety of vehicles what art work can you create with their tyres?

Junk Model Vehicle

Collect different materials from around your house. What have you collected?

What vehicle would you like to build?

Using the materials, you have collected can you make vehicle of your choice. Don’t forget to send Miss Rafferty and Miss Walk photos of your wonderful work!

Shape Vehicle

Can you draw and cut out different shapes to make a vehicle of your choice? Does it travel by land, sea or air?

Make your own Sail Boat

Experiment – Does it float? How much cargo will it hold?

Make your own Telephone/Mobile

Can you make your own telephone or mobile to communicate with your friends and family members?
