Literacy - Winter Weatherland
What do you know about the season of Winter? Discuss the 4 seasons and any characteristics of winter that you already know!
Read through the Winter PowerPoint/Videos to teach the characteristics of Winter!
Can you label the boy or girl in their Winter clothes?
Challenge – Can you write a sentence about Winter?
Additional Activities - These are optional extra's if you wish to complete. These will stay the same all week! Please complete the main activity first!
Numeracy - Can you count the winter items and show how many of each item you have? Remember there are lots of ways to make a graph e.g. pictogram, colour, tick, cross etc.

In the search bar '2 Count' - Practice making different graphs online. Ring family and friends and ask them their eye colour, favourite piece of fruit etc. Which is the most popular? Which is the least popular? Are any the same?
Arts and Crafts - Select one each day to complete!
Using different materials from inside or outside your home can you make a Winter animal or an animal that hibernates?
Read/Watch the story of the ‘Stick Man’! Can you collect and use different size sticks to create a piece of art work!
Draw or collage your own design for a set of gloves and a winter hat to keep you warm!
Toilet Roll Animals – Make and decorate your own Winter animal using materials from your home.
Hand Print Art - Use paint and your hands to create different Winter scenes!
Ice Baubles - Collect materials from the outdoor environment and on a plate/bowl fill with water and add your items, make sure to add some string so you can hang it in the garden the next day. Place in the freezer over night and see what happens!
