Writing at Oakfield Primary

At Oakfield Primary, we encourage writing for pleasure and writing for purpose. 

Our Literacy lessons are structured to ensure skills are taught discreetly, allowing pupils a chance to refine them, and giving them the confidence to apply these skills with growing independence.

We focus on a different genre each half term, and pupils complete writing assessments half termly, to inform future learning. During these assessments, there is a focus on content and style of writing, equipping our pupils with skills needed for their futures, and allowing their imaginations to flourish.
