Dear Parents/Carers,
Health & Safety Update
In light of the current COVID-19 situation, the school has taken the decision to review non-essential school events to limit risk to the school community including those who may be more vulnerable.
Parents’ Evenings Postponed
31.03.20 & 02.04.20 (including reception classes)
Although our Parents Evenings’ are an integral part of the school calendar we feel that it is sensible to postpone the Spring Term parents’ evenings until later in the school year. We will, of course, re-schedule an appropriate time in the summer term.
New Parent’s Meeting for Nursery Children Postponed
10am on Monday 30.03.20
This also means that our new nursery parents meeting scheduled for 10.00am, Monday 30th March, will also be postponed and school based staff will write to all families to advice of a new meeting time in due course.
Afterschool Clubs Proceeding
This week (week beginning 16.03.20) will be the final week for all extra-curricular clubs and the school will advise families on when clubs will start again in the summer term.
Storey Arms Proceeding pending further discussion
The school is still in consultation with the Local Authority and staff at Storey Arms on whether or not the trip will proceed (1.4.20-3.4.20). If, for any reason, the trip is postponed then we will again be looking a suitable time for it to be re-arranged.
Other Trips Postponed
The cinema attendance award trip for Y5 and will be postponed. This will be re-arranged at an appropriate time in the Summer Term. Any other trips during the period leading into the Easter break will also be postponed until further notice.
Mother’s Day Assembly Cancelled
Due to the vulnerable nature of many of our youngest children, our assembly will be cancelled & instead the children will bring home their cards and gifts for Mothering Sunday.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience these changes may have, but we would like to reassure you that these decisions are being made with the best intentions of everyone who is part of our school community. Please see the reverse for how we would like all families to stay in touch and please keep us informed of reasons for absence.
Many thanks once again for your ongoing support and understanding in this matter.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. D Harris
