H&S Update: Lateral Flow Devices (LFD) in Schools

School based staff across Cardiff have been offered access to what is known as a Lateral Flow Device (LFD). This is a test that can be taken at home and will allow staff to know if they are carrying Coronavirus without realising it.

The tests will be taken on two occasions each week. If a member of staff has a positive LFD test, then the school will notify parents/carers from that class and advise if there should be a period of isolation.

The Local Authority will soon be sending out further details of how LFDs will assist in making our school communities safer and as soon as this information is received, we will forward it to everyone.
