Our Summer Term Context is:
Each class chose a class-book and both classes chose Gangsta Granny” by David Walliams.
Our work for the next few weeks will be based on this. The classes have also decided on lots of exciting and creative lessons that they’d like to try, so this term, we’re handing over to the year 6s and letting them take a lead in their learning!
Our Spring Term context is
"What a Wonderful World!"
Mr Morgan and Mrs Doyle were planning for a whole term of looking at Fairtrade and its place in the world, but Year 6 had different ideas.
Once we started our KWL grids, it was clear that Year 6 had lots of wonderful ideas and questions and our context has gone in an entirely new, and pupil led direction!
We've got lots of exciting and creative lessons ready, to extend our knowledge and understanding of the world around us and everything in it!
Our Autumn term context is “World War 2”.
The children have already decided on aspects of World War 2 they’d like to learn more about and we will be working on those as part of our learning; these include the blitz, evacuation, rationing, propaganda and entertainment of the time.
We will be reading “Goodnight Mr Tom” and “Carrie’s War” in class and taking part in a range of activities to develop our literacy, numeracy and digital skills while learning about this interesting topic.
